Participation in the 17th International Corrosion Symposium (KORSEM’26)
Çankırı Karatekin University Central Research Laboratory Application and Research Center (ÇANKAM) participated in the 17th International Corrosion Symposium (KORSEM’26), held in Ankara from October 15 to 17, 2026, hosted by OSTİM Technical University in collaboration with the Corrosion Association.
The symposium, organized around the main theme of “Material Durability and Corrosion Prevention Technologies in Strategic Systems,” was attended by Prof. Dr. Olcay Gençyılmaz, Director of ÇANKAM, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Filazi, a member of the center's staff.
As part of the symposium, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Filazi delivered an oral presentation entitled “Electrochemical and Surface Evaluation of Ferula drudeana Hydrodistillation Residue as a Corrosion Inhibitor for Carbon Steel in Artificial Seawater.” The study, conducted in ÇANKAM laboratories, investigated the potential of the residue obtained from the hydrodistillation of Ferula drudeana as a corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in an artificial seawater environment, using electrochemical methods and surface analyses.
The symposium addressed current research in corrosion science, material durability, and corrosion protection technologies. It also contributed to scientific knowledge exchange and the development of new collaborations among academics, researchers, and industry representatives.
ÇANKAM continues to participate in national and international scientific events to disseminate research findings, enhance the visibility of scientific outputs, and strengthen academic collaborations.
